U.N Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited the Zaatari Refugee Camp today, as part of a regional tour for a first-hand look at the plight of Syrian refugees and to draw the world's attention to their humanitarian needs in the host communities.
During the tour of the camp this morning, Ban emphasized that the U.N will continue helping the refugees in Jordan through various international and humanitarian organizations to mitigate their suffering, pointing to Jordan's efforts in facing the ramifications of the Syrian crisis.
He said he would urge the global community to mobilize support to enable refugee host countries to carry out the required humanitarian role toward them, adding that the current aid is not enough to meet the needs of the Syrian refugees in Jordan.
