UN human rights envoy Yanghee Lee
Yangon - Arab Today

UN human rights envoy Yanghee Lee has arrived in Myanmar on a 12-day visit amid growing concern about reports of abuse of members of the Rohingya Muslim minority in a government security crackdown.
Lee will meet with political and community leaders, civil society representatives as well as victims of human rights violations and members of the international community.
She will visit Rakhine State as well as Yangon and the capital Naypyidaw.
Almost 30,000 members of the Rohingya Muslim minority group have fled western Rakhine State since violence erupted in October.
The military has been accused of killing and raping members of the persecuted minority during "clearance operations".
The United Nations says about 34,000 civilians have fled across the border to Bangladesh.
The government led by Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi denies the accusations and insists a lawful counter-insurgency operation is underway.
