UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will visit Kuwait next week to chair the 2nd Syria Donors’ Conference, scheduled to be held on Wednesday (January 15).UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq said in a press briefing that the conference aims at mobilizing necessary financial resources for the United Nations and its partners to cater to urgent humanitarian needs and muster solidarity with the Syrian people, in Syria and neighbouring countries.“Due to alarming deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Syria, the UN Secretary-General urges all member states to attend and keep up their generosity", he said.He said that the UN secretary-General would meet senior Kuwaiti officials and representatives of other countries taking part in the conference.
