Thirteen new cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) were confirmed by Health Ministry of Saudi Arabia last Sunday, adding up to 49 infections in six days. There has been no cure since the sudden increase of the disease killed about a third of the infected, according to Arab news.com. The virus has infected 244 people in Saudi Arabia, of whom 75 have died, said Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, the Health Minister, in local media reports. The causes of this time's sudden increase has't been identified, but it might be a seasonal pattern since there was also a big rise in infections last April and May. Meanwhile, a delegation from an international pharmaceutical company will soon arrive and help the country's health officials explore the possibility of manufacturing vaccines
