30 Egyptian physicians to be sent to Ghana amid medical strike

Thirty Egyptian physicians are scheduled to travel to to Accra to run hospitals hit by a doctors' strike.
The Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) will fund the medical mission upon an order by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
They were sent after a request from Ghana to cover the shortage of doctors at the public hospitals, spokesman for foreign ministry Ahmed Abu Zaid said on Thursday.
According to the spokesman, Cairo had no option but accepting the Ghanaian request to urgently send doctors to run the hospitals after negotiation to end the three-week strike collapsed.
Egypt's Health Ministry has swiftly responded to the request, the spokesman said, adding, the physicians would head to the African country to provide medical help.
