The Abu Dhabi City Municipality, ADM, recently organised a health awareness campaign entitled, "Blue Circle" in cooperation with The Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, and coinciding with the International Day of Diabetes. It focused on raising the diabetes awareness and prevention means as well as the provision of general medical examinations for customers and employees alike.
The event, which took place at the headquarters of the municipality at Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Street, signals the keenness of Urban Planning and Municipalities Department to raise community awareness of proper healthy habits, diffuse positive health standards and implement a Health, Safety and Environment system to ensure a healthy society. It also demonstrates the municipality's strategy to improve the psychological and physical health of the community, consistent with the municipal vision of ensuring a better quality of life for all.
The event reflected the values of social responsibility, which the municipality is keen to uphold for all members of society in line with government guidance to bring happiness to residents and provide all means of public health and positive environment.
The Imperial College London Diabetes Centre conducted free medical tests and a presentation was made to provide an overview of diabetes, its main causes, and how to prevent it from maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The Abu Dhabi City Municipality emphasised the role of strategic partners in supporting the municipality's efforts in maintaining the public health and providing standard health and safety to community members.
