National airports will be equipped with a fever detection system, called "tapis," announced Thursday in Tizi-Ouzou Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform Abdelmalek Boudiaf.
The Health ministers, who was on working visit to the province of Tizi Ouzou (103-km east of Algiers), said that this system will strengthen the preventive measures taken by Algeria at its land borders, airports and ports to prevent the entry of the Ebola virus into the country.
Boudiaf said that according to scientists, "the Ebola virus, which appeared in tropical countries and has spread to the West African countries "cannot survive in Algeria because of its climate, environment and the way of life of Algerians," underlining however, the need to remain vigilant."
