A grieving father called on Kuwaiti Health Minister Dr. Ali al-Obaidi to open an inquiry into organ theft at Mubarak Hospital, police said. Al-Rai Daily said Wednesday a Kuwaiti man whose identity was not disclosed for legal reasons contacted authorities when alleged traffickers attempted to steal organs from his dead son at Mubarak Hospital. Al-Watan Daily said the victim's father had been asked by unauthorized health workers to sign a document requesting doctors to suspend his son's life support as well as an organ donation form. Al-Watan Daily quoted sources as saying doctors in the past "had tried to bully relatives into signing organs release forms for personal gain."
