The eighth Skeletal Radiology Conference got underway this evening at the Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa sea and spa in Bahrain.
Health Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Training and Planning Dr. Mohammed Amin Al-Awadhi opened the event, which runs until March2, on behalf of Undersecretary Dr. Aisha Mubarak Bu’unq.
The Arabian Gulf Society of Skeletal Radiology (AGSSR) is organizing the key medical conference for the first time in Bahrain in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
Leading practitioners from Bahrain, the GCC countries, Arab states, the US and Canada are attending the meeting which focuses in its 8th edition on post-bone-and-joints-surgery skeletal imaging.
Addressing the opening session on behalf of Dr. Bu’unq, Dr. Al-Awadhi stressed the importance of the conference which is being held in Bahrain for the first time.
He stressed the ministry’s firm keenness on hosting high-profile medical conferences in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa so as to keep abreast of latest scientific trends and exchange expertise between countries.
The opening session of the conference was preceded by work sessions which focused on the skeletal imaging of bones and joints. A training workshop is also scheduled to be held on the last day of the conference.
