Manama - Bna

Bahrain medical society today paid tribute to all NGOs and other non-governmental associations and citizens for their stances. it issued a statement in the aftermath of the aggression perpetrated by journalist reem khalifa on dr. hend al-fayez, dr. jenan darwish, dr ghufran jassim in addition to BMS chairman dr nabeel ansari. press journalist reem khalifa. the incident happened during a press conference called by an irish delegation at the ramada palace hotel on Thursday. the BMS statement lauded the stance voiced by the bahrain journalists' association slamming reem khalifa's attitude. "the journalist's acts flouts the authentic press values and professional ethics", the association said it hailed the honourable stances of patriotic journalists, lawyers and public figures who voiced solidarity with doctors, particularly dr hend al-fayez, slamming the journalist's aggressive act which flouts professional press ethics. "Our efforts to project the truth inside Bahrain and abroad have upset certain parties", the association said, deploring the resolve of certain sides to portray the medical society and project a narrative of incidents at the salmaniya medical complex through a politicized sectarian spectrum. it also rapped the intent of these parties to defame the image of Bahrain abroad and distort the truth to serve certain designs. the association cast doubts about the true agenda of the irish delegation which expressed its intention to investigate incidents in Bahrain and come out with recommendations – although their visit did not exceed 48 hours. the association defended its right to meet the irish delegation and expose its own narrative of incidents in Bahrain, pointing out that the royal college of surgeons in Ireland - medical university of Bahrain had distanced itself from the visit. the Bahrain medical society slammed the haughty attitude of the irish delegation, whose members announced openly their firm intention to step up the pressure on Bahrain until detained doctors are released – thus flouting basic diplomatic, legal and human norms. the association released details of journalist reem khalifa's aggression on several bahraini doctors, accusing them of being traitors and mercenaries. she went even further describing them as being "spinsters looking for men" and "cheap women" – all that happened i presence of Bahrain TV camera. the journalist hysterically assaulted dr hend al-fayez and aggressed dr nabeel al-ansari verbally. her husband, former al-Wasat editor-in-chief dr mansour al-jamri, did not ince his words used racist nd sectarian words in addressing doctors telling them, particularly: "i belong to this country. We are staying here. you will leave!".
