APSF Convenes conference
Kuwait - KUNA

The Sixth Anesthesia and Critical Care Conference concluded here on Saturday and issued several recommendations to provide better services to patients.
In a statement to KUNA, Dr. Hunoof Jaber Al-Rawdhan, an Organizing Committee member, said that the conference recommended to providing a sufficient number of anesthetists and lessening work hours to alleviate pressure that physicians face.
"The recommendations include improving the system of work and abidance by standards of safety when anesthetizing children as it is followed in Europe and the US," she said.
She noted that the recommendations underlined the importance of organizing training programs to upgrade skills and performance of anesthetists and setting up training centers that serve all physicians from different specialties at the Ministry of Health and Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization.
The Sixth Anesthesia and Critical Care Conference, organized by Ministry of Health, started on Thursday with the attendance of more than 600 physicians, a ministry official said.
It focused on the safety protocols of children anesthetization, organ transplant and pain treatment.
Physicians from the US, Europe, Australia, and Gulf countries participated in the conference, said Dr. Rodhan, noting that Kuwaiti physicians presented three lectures during the course of the conference.
