Dubai - WAM

DUPHAT Conference and Exhibition continued on its second day at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre with a large number of participants including pharmacists, drug manufacturers and suppliers who came from all parts of the world. DUPHAT distinguished speakers came from the U.A.E., Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Japan, Poland, Switzerland, U.S.A., and many more countries to share their expertise and contribute to the pharmacy profession during the conference. The event brings together pharmacists from hospitals and community pharmacies, professionals from the industry, marketing professionals, researchers, academics, scientists, biotech experts, clinicians, students and other healthcare professionals. DUPHAT hosts distinguished local and international pharmaceutical organisations and associations such as the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), European Society of Clinical Pharmacy, Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, European Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS), the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy (ESCP) and others. Professor Michael Dooley, Federal President, Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia, said, "I have participated as a speaker at DUPHAT previously and I remember well the programme and the wide range of topics presented by speakers from all across the world. It is amazing to see the similarities in both opportunities and challenges that we all grapple with in our day to day roles as pharmacists in health care." "As the President of EUFEPS, it is a pleasure to congratulate DUPHAT for successful developments over many years with substantially growing attendance," Said Professor Meindert Danhof, EUFEPS President. Paul Abramowitz, Chief Executive Officer at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), said: "The work performed during DUPHAT continues to be instrumental in helping to develop universal pharmacy standards and recommendations to promote integrity, safety and efficiency within our practice sites at an international level. The quality educational programmes on a variety of topics such as redefining the pharmacist's role, perspectives on new technologies, and ensuring quality of medicines are exemplary and greatly help to advance the profession by providing excellent forums for discussion and facilitating change." The President of European Society of Clinical Pharmacy (ESCP), Franciska Desplenter, said, "All efforts are converging into the caring for patients' health. This is indeed a challenge for the educators, the practitioners, the researchers and the decision makers since they have to prepare the next generation of both pharmacists and patients for new demanding challenges in the health care system." On another note, Professor Ibrahim Al Sarra, President of Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, comments on the cultural and leisure activities that accompany DUPHAT Conference and Exhibition, saying, "Besides the scientific programmes, exciting and memorable social events are included at DUPHAT. I wish to invite each and every one to participate in this important scientific event and experience the warm hospitality and the rich cultural heritage of the United Arab of Emirates." The DUPHAT Conference and Exhibition is organised by Index Conferences and Exhibitions Organization Est. - member of INDEX Holding and in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority. It is classified as one of the largest events dedicated to the pharmaceutical field and related technologies, as it is approved and accredited by the Dubai Health Authority in addition to a number of international scientific organisations specialised in this field.
