UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond
London - MENA

The UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond on Thursday said a conference on dealing with the Ebola virus had seen "significant progress".
The meeting in London focused on the international community’s response to halt the spread of the disease which has so far killed more than 3,300 people in West Africa.
After the meeting, Hammond added that nations had offered money, airlift capability and personnel, with the expectation of "further pledges" of aid and financial support to come.
"The UK is leading and coordinating the response in Sierra Leone, but we need international help and today we’ve made significant progress in securing it," he said at a press conference after the summit.
