Kuwaiti Society of Endocrinology will hold a conference entitled "Bone Disorders Secondary to Endocrine Disorders and Diabetes" on January 12th with the participation of local and GCC experts. Head of Pediatric Endocrinology Unit in Al-Sabah hospital and organizer of the event Dr. Zaidan Al-Mazidi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday that the conference would discuss important medical issues. The conference will also discuss Osteoporosis for all ages, including ways to treat and prevent the disease, he noted, adding that the experts would study diseases that increase or decrease calcium levels and ways to treat it. Dr. Al-Mazidi also said that using modern X-ray technologies in diagnosing diseases and following up on the treatment's results will be among the conference's main issues. The conference's agenda will also include topics regarding kidney diseases and their effects on bones, thyroid diseases, and joints related diseases caused by endocrine system disorders, said Dr. Al-Mazidi. Dr. Al-Mazidi stated that among the event's activities will be seminars on children diabetes type one and two, including challenges that face doctors and the latest medications. He called on all public and private sector doctors of various specialties to participate in the conference which is organized in cooperation with Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).
