Since the beginning of this year until the month of October, 2,297 birth and death certificates were issued for illegal residents, the Ministry of Health announced Saturday.
Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry Dr. Mahmoud Hajji Mohammed Al-Abdulhadi told KUNA that that 2,189 birth certificates and 108 death certificates were dealt with this year, with an average of 230 certificates issued every month.
He added that a total of 24,882 death and birth certificates have been issued since the approval of law no. (2011/409) which gives facilitations to this segment of the society.
These documents are issued in collaboration with the Central Apparatus for Illegal Resident Affairs.
The official stressed that these individuals are identified as "non-Kuwaitis" on the documents instead of the old description of "illegal resident."
