The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry issued on Friday a travel advisory cautioning its citizens to refrain from traveling to West African countries hit hard by an Ebola outbreak.
The ministry recommended Kyrgyz nationals intending to travel to Liberia and other African countries to comply with all the sanitary standards, to minimize contact with the local population or temporarily not to travel to these countries.
The Ebola virus is spread through direct contact with the bodily fluids of those infected.
According to the World Health Organization, the Ebola outbreak in March has sickened 1,711 people and killed 932 so far in Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, while Liberia and Sierra Leone account for more than 60 percent of the deaths.
