The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) took another major step to regulate work within national sports federations’ clinics to provide improved medical services for its patients.
In a coordinating meeting with representatives of the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), BOC’s sports federations director Hisham Al Balooshi made a presentation on the sports federations’ medical clinics work and its employees.
Both parties also discussed ways of joint cooperation to contribute to regulate work within these clinics in accordance with the requirements and procedures of the authority, which would improve the quality of medical services.
On her part, NHRA Head of healthcare facilities Dr Maha Al Kawari affirmed the authorities willingness to build bridges of cooperation between the two sides in order to regulate the provision of healthcare within the federations.
She also pointed to the need for the regulation of the whole healthcare system by an independent health regulator.
