The Moroccan field hospital in Bamako wound up on Friday its mission in Mali started last September 17 as part of Morocco’s humanitarian assistance to Mali. Deployed upon instructions of King Mohammed VI, the field hospital was manned by a 106 member-strong staff, including specialized doctors, paramedics, and support staff. Over 52,600 medical services, of various types, were extended by this Moroccan staff. Malian health minister expressed during a ceremony held on Friday at the field hospital the Malian people gratefulness to the King for the solidarity actions, paying tribute to the professionalism of the Moroccan medical staff. He also highlighted the brotherhood ties existing between the King and Malian president Ibrahim Boubacar Keita. During his visit to Mali, last September, the sovereign visited together with the Malian president the field hospital. Every day, a large crowd of Malians headed to the field hospital to benefit from its medical services.
