The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) said that it has followed up with deep concern news reported by some media about the health condition of Isa Qasim and the allegations that he was denied his right to healthcare and medical services in Bahrain.
In a statement issued today with this regard, the institution stated that being responsible for promoting human rights in Bahrain and given its prerogatives stipulated in its establishment law, a representative was sent to visit Isa Qasim at Bahrain International Hospital to get assured about his health condition.
The institution affirmed that Isa Qasim is receiving healthcare and called on everyone to respect the right to privacy and avoid politicising the issue.
