US Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul told TV talk show host Jay Leno he prescribed birth control pills while he was a practicing OB-GYN in Texas. The Texas congressman said Tuesday on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" he wouldn't ban the morning after pill and believed women should have the right to choose -- a position that puts him at adds on a contentious issue with his GOP rivals, ABC News reported Wednesday. "Yeah, I think so she should [have the right to choose], but does the infant have the right to choose?" said Paul. "The baby at eight months and weighs 8 pounds -- should you, the mother have the right to abort?" he asked. "I have not been able to accept that." Paul delivered about 4,000 babies during his four-decade career as an OB-GYN, ABC News said. "I was also putting myself out of business, all this birth control," said Paul adding, "They had less babies."
