Algiers - APS

Minister of Post and Information and Communication Technologies (MPTIC) Zohra Derdouri on Wednesday in Algiers advocated better treatment for women with breast cancer, reiterating the importance of early screening.
In a short speech during the ceremony held on the occasion the closing of the campaign against breast cancer called "Pink October", the minister called for "better treatment and better care for people with this disease" and calls women "to guard against this disease of modern time.”
Indeed, Derdouri renewed her commitment to support all the initiatives and actions to counter this disease," which is the main cause of death with women aged between 35 and 65," she noted.
Also, and for their media contribution in awareness for the fight against breast cancer, four journalists were honored during the evening.
The journalists are Ouahiba Amzal Bouaziz and Nassima Chaouche from the National Television, Hsen Semmache from the National Radio’s Channel 3 and Thoraya Messaouda from Arabic daily El djazair.
The launch of October, the worldwide month of the fight against breast cancer was kicked off this year at the Grand Post.
Initiated by El-Amel Association and the Pierre-and-Marie-Curie Centre (CPMC) and sponsored by the Ministry of MPTIC and Algeria Telecom, the campaign against this disease had this year the theme: "All for them"
