Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of the Arab Gulf Programme for Development 'AGFUND' has recently signed an agreement to strengthen the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) through training in Zimbabwe, implemented by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Signing the agreement means that it shall enter into force to reduce morbidity and mortality rates resulting from epidemics that can be prevented by using vaccinations.
The project aims to protect children and women of pregnancy age through safe vaccines, make available new vaccines, increase the regular low rates use of vaccines, and promote disease surveillance mechanisms in the framework of EPI and the provision of health information and data management.
