Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Defense Minister Sergey K. Shoygu emergency medical supplies to the Republic of Guinea to help curb the spread of Ebola.
The supplies, including a hospital and anti-Ebola vaccines and drugs, will be airlifted to Guinea by at the behest of the President, Interfax news agency cited Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov as saying on Saturday.
President Putin is attending the two-day G-20 Leaders' Summit which opened in Brisbane, Australia, earlier today with the combat against the fatal disease in West Africa countries featuring prominently.
On August 22, Conakry, the capital city of Guinea, received a USD five million-worth diagnostic lab for epidemic diseases offered by Russia to help fight Ebola.
