Dr Shaikh Sultan has issued a decree setting up the Sharjah Health Care City (SHCC) to be supervised by the Sharjah Health Authority. SHARJAH — His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued a decree setting up the Sharjah Health Care City (SHCC) to be supervised by the Sharjah Health Authority. The SHCC, a health and medical free zone, will be a corporate body with full financial, administrative and legal powers, according to the decree. The body aims to, among other things, promote Sharjah as an international hub for health care and other related activities. Among the powers given to the SHCC is establishing infrastructure, including hospitals, consultant and diagnosis centres, organ transplantation and rehabilitation centres, health resorts and spas (social, sports, yoga and supplementary treatment centres), medical equipment and pharmaceutical companies, IT industry and any other services related to health care industry and medical and health logistics.
