Palu - Arab Today

Jamiatun, the wife of Santoso, the alleged terrorist group leader, who was killed in a fire fight in Poso, Central Sulawesi, is currently being treated in the Bhayangkara Hospital in Palu.

A car carrying Jamiatun arrived at the hospital at around 7pm, and was escorted by a number of women officers.

Jamiatun, who looked weak, was immediately taken to the emergency unit for a health examination.

After a few minutes, a woman wearing a veil was taken in a wheel chair to a care unit.

There has been no official statement regarding the condition of the members of the Santoso-led group, but it is believed that Jamiatun will be treated for physical and psychological recovery before being interrogated.

It was reported that she was weak because she had not eaten for days.

Jamiatun (22) was caught by the Tinombala Operation task force while conducting a sweep around Tambarana river in the Poso Pesisir Utara sub-district at around 8.30 am on Saturday.

Santoso, one of the most wanted terrorist leaders in Indonesia, was eliminated in a gun battle by law enforcement officials on July 18, after he remained a fugitive-in-hiding for almost a decade in the remote forested mountainous area of Poso District, Central Sulawesi Province.

Personnel from the Tinombala military operations task force were involved in a shootout with the Santoso-led Eastern Indonesian Mujahidin members, and managed to kill two men, while three others, including two women, escaped, to the Mt Tambarana area in Poso.

"The three people, who escaped are suspected to be Basri, his wife, and Santosos wife," he added.

Only 19 members of the Santoso-led armed Eastern Indonesian Mujahidin group now remain outside the reach of law.

They include Jumiatun Muslim alias Atun alias Bunga alias Umi Delima, the wife of Santoso, Tini Susanti Kaduku alias Umi Fadel (Ali Kaloras wife) and Nurmi Usman alias Oma (Basris wife).

With the seizure of Jamiatun their number has now dropped to 18.

The chief of the Central Sulawesi Police Command, Brigadier General Rudy Sufahriadi has issued an order for the rest of the Santoso group members to surrender.

"To surrender would be better," he said in an order letter dated July 22, 2016.

Brigadier General Rudy, who is in charge of the Tinombala Operation policy, called on them to surrender at the nearest police station or military post to account for what they had done.

He also assured them that they would be treated humanely and with respect for their human rights, adding that they had better surrender rather than face arrest that could lead to harsh actions, adding that law enforcement authorities would pay attention to their families.

Brigadier General Rudy also reiterated that the security agencies dont have a problem with them, but their actions.
