Sony Pictures said Wednesday it is working on an animated "Spider-Man" film for 2018 which will be conceived by "The LEGO Movie"'s creators.
A Sony spokesperson confirmed to AFP comments by Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas that the movie would be written, produced and possibly directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
Besides the LEGO flick they are known for directing "22 Jump Street".
Sony Pictures is also to release the latest live action episode of the "Spider-Man" saga, based on the Marvel comic strip character, on July 28, 2017.
