Eight candidates have been nominated to lead the next Libyan government, sources revealed. Wednesday was the deadline for the candidates to put themselves forward. Abdul Hamid Mahmoud Al Naami, Mohammed Mohammed Al Mufti, Awad Brek Baraasi, Mabrouk Mohammed Azwai , Mahmoud Jibril Ibrahim, Mohammed Abdul Rahman Balrwin , Mostafa Abushakor Ghaith and Fathi Rajab Akkari. Mahmoud Jibril is the head of National Forces Alliance. Awad Baraasi is the Energy Minister in the current government. Spokesman for the Supreme Commission Amr al-Habasy said that the Commission's report will be finished before next Monday. He added that the report will be referred to the General National Congress to elect the new prime minister on September 12. The sources explained that the candidates will present their electoral programmes on September 10 to the Supreme Commission.
