The Executive Committee of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council has approved a number of procedures that would support sustainable environmental system and enhance the efficiency of infrastructure in the emirate.
The meeting was chaired by Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, chairman of the executive office.
The committee also approved the low-emission vehicles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the establishment of a technical committee responsible to follow-up on its initiatives. This strategy aims to define emission vehicles in the emirate and their implications, which can reduce air pollution and thus benefit the environment.
The low-emission vehicles could play a key role as effective means of transport that promote economic growth, quality of life and environmental sustainability of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In addition, they contribute to reducing harmful emissions, thus improving the air quality compared to gasoline-powered or diesel-run vehicles.
It also approved awarding of a project, worth more than AED68 million, to install lights along the internal streets in the Mohammed Bin Zayed City.
The committee approved the project to develop the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak garden in cooperation with the private sector.
