Algerian army trooped scoured a mountainous area in Algeria looking for evidence of possible Al-Qaeda members. The area of al-Akhdariyah is reportedly a hotbed for Al-Qaeda troops. The army operation came after information was leaked from Abu Anas, a top Al-Qaeda leader who surrendered to security forces in Algeria two days before Eid al-Adha. On Monday morning helicopters continued to circle the area looking for leads. It was announced earlier that Abu Anas who real name is Abdel Gadir Najjar from al-Akhdariyah left the group after spending 12 years in the mountains.
