General Manager of Customs Kaddour Ben Eltaher takes part in customs’ general managers meeting for Western Mediterranean countries’ Dialogue Forum in Rome which will discuss cooperation methods to protect the borders. This meeting will allow more efforts in customs to fight borders crimes and extremism.
The meeting includes customs general managers of North Mediterranean countries such as, Italy, Malta, France, Portugal and Spain as well as the countries of the Arab Maghreb Union, Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia. The customs’ managers will discuss ways of fighting, money laundry and controlling and monitoring activities on borders in order to secure the borders and respect international legal demands.
West Mediterranean countries doubled its procedures to fight borders crimes such as, illegal immigration, weapons and drugs. These crimes became a real danger to these countries politics and economy.
Algeria hosted an international meeting about “Borders crimes and their effects on national security” Within the framework of the implementation of the program of multilateral military cooperation activities, of the "5 + 5 Defense" initiative of 2017.
