Ahmed Gaid Salah, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army of Algeria, continue the inspection of border areas with Mali and Niger, on Sunday, accompanied by a high-level military delegation.
The inspection visits were coincided with the announcement of a new extremist alliance, under the name of "Muslim League and Victory of Islam," which includes three pro-Al Qaeda organizations.
Salah gave his instructions to the army units deployed in the desert areas and the southern border with Mali, asking them to be careful in the fight against extremism, crime networks and smuggling of arms, drugs and humans.
He said, in a speech on the occasion of an inspection visit of military units on the border, that the army must be kept at a high level of vigilance in order to tight its grip on terrorist groups.
