Beirut – Georges Chahine

The head of change and reform bloc, Michel Aoun, started a tour in Jezzine area, during which the Parliamentary elections’ season started, 10 months before its date. MP Mohammed Raad received Aoun in Jarmak town, located 59 km from the south east of the city of Beirut. Aoun Said: “the paper of Lebanon’s President Michel Sleiman on the technical defensive tragedy, except one paragraph, determines the frame of the relation between the armed forces and the resistance.” He believed that the Lebanese army will not be able to confront alone any group in the surrounding, so there should be integration between the military work and the resistance, announcing that he agreed with Hezbollah’s opinion that the weapon is to defend the Lebanese territories, which is a written agreement. As for the electoral file Aoun declared in a press interview with “Al Akhbar”: “it is dangerous not to hold the Parliamentary election,” In an answer to a question about whether the parliament will be extended in case the election shall not be held, Aoun replied:  "I am against extension the term of or re-election, because it is not permissible to manipulate in this area." He added: "I am totally against any extension, whether it for a junior or major military man." As for the Syrian affairs, Aoun stressed that it would end with political dialogue, or by defeating one of the sides, but he ruled out that the regime is the side which shall be defeated, referring that the State Administration continues, and if the Western countries asked their ambassadors to leave the country, this does not mean that Syria has collapsed.
