Khartoum - Abed Algayom Ashmeag

The Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir said that the killing of the leader of the Justice and Equality Movement, Khalil Ibrahim, was divine retaliation for the crimes he committed against the homeland and the citizens, and marked the end of unjustifiable rancor and enmity chapter. Al- Bashir who was addressing a celebration held for graduation of the 38th batch at the Command and Staff College Tuesday, said that the killing of Khalil Ibrahim marked the end of a chapter of unjustifiable rancor and bitterness between the people of one homeland. The celebration was attended by the Minister of Defense, number ambassadors and heads of diplomatic corps accredited to Sudan. He added that the assassination was a consequence of his choosing the path of war, terrorizing of citizens and working to split the nation's unity, and was a message to internal parties that do not discriminate between the right of the homeland and opposition of the government,  indicating that these parties did not absorb the changes that happened in the area, top of them were enhancement of the relations with Chad, the ousting of the regime of Gaddafi, and the signing of the Doha Document on Peace in Darfur. Meanwhile, Al-Bashir praised the Armed Forces, the security forces and Police for securing the citizens and protecting the security and safety of the country, referring to the spontaneous demonstration at most parts of the country to affirm the people's support to the Armed Forces and their favoring the peace option. Al-Bashir pledged that the government will go ahead in supporting the Armed Forces and the security authorities toward protecting the nation's security and stability. It’s worth mentioning that the Justice and Equality Movement, the main Darfur rebel group confirmed on Monday that its leader, Khalil Ibrahim, has been killed. It said in a statement posted on its website that Ibrahim was killed early Friday when his camp was attacked by a plane.
