Coptic Christian general director of the National Postal Authority, Nagah Meligi Shata, submitted his official candidacy documents secured by 30 parliamentarian endorsements on Sunday. The presidential candidate refused to reveal the identity of parliamentarians to prevent igniting tension with the political forces they belong to, the Middle East News Agency reported. Upon submitting his presidential documents, the candidate suggested that his presidential agenda focuses on establishing a modern civil state where Islam is the main source of legislation (except for non-Muslims who will resort to their own laws). If he should become president, Shata will work on the expansion of sources of military weapons, the reclamation of Sinai, making the Egyptian pound the official currency in Suez and introducing an unemployment initiative that involves an allowance of at least 1000 L.E. (165.700 US Dollars).
