A curfew imposed in Iraqi Kirkuk governorate was lifted in the wee hours of Tuesday and gateways with other Iraqi governorates have been reopened, Kirkuk Police Command announced.
Security conditions in Kirkuk are stable and everything back to normal, Alsumaria news channel reported quoting Kirkuk police chief Khattab Omar Aref as saying on Tuesday.
Kirkuk authorities imposed a curfew Monday on parts of Iraq's Kirkuk amid fears of unrest following the Iraqi Kurdistan region independence referendum to prevent incidents between the Kurdish, Turkmen and Arab communities which share the city.
