Three police officers were killed and three more were injured by a double-bombing of a police patrol in the province of Babylon, 100km south of Baghdad. A source from Babylon police said to Arabstoday: "The bomb was put on the road side in el-America at a crossing. The bomb exploded Sunday morning killing three police officers immediately. Another bomb exploded targeting police patrols who rushed to the scene, injuring three more officers including lieutenant colonel Mohamed Abdulrazik." The source did not want to be named but also stated "security forces took strict measures cutting off all roads leading to the accident area."
