Egyptian presidential spokesman Yasser Ali strenuously denies allegations made in Israeli newspapers that a thank you letter was sent to the Israeli President Shimon Peres. Yasser Ali states "Mohamed Morsi did not send a thank you letter to his Israeli counterpart. All allegations published in Israeli newspapers and some Egyptian websites are total fabrications". In a press conference in the presidential headquarters on Tuesday Mr Ali added "President Morsi cannot do that, and if it were to happen he would officially announce it". The letter allegedly thanked the Israeli presidency for their Ramadan greetings and hoped that peace talks would get “back to its right track” according to Arutz Sheva. The official Twitter and Facebook account for President Peres said that "Egypt's new president, Mohamed Morsi has sent a special letter to state president Shimon Peres".
