Amman - Osama al-Rantisi

The minister of State for Media Affairs and Communication Rakan Majali said in a press statement, said his country offered Egypt  protection for the pipeline that carries gas to Jordan, however Egypt rejected this proposal. Majali also said that the offer to Egypt was in the form of surveillance equipment as well as fully trained security personel. He added that "the Egyptian side rejected this, stressing that it has the capacity and capabilities and efficiency to arrange security matters, so as to prevent recurrence of incidents," explaining that "Jordan understands Egypt's rejection of the offer," noting that Jordan's offer came out of  fraternal  concern and not a sense of superiority. "Jordan wants to help, and what concerns us is to maintain gas output," stressing that "Jordan is not interfering but offered to help as it affected Jordan as much as Egypt and mutual cooperation appeared a suitable option. He emphasized that "each period of interruption of gas is a problem for us"
