The Egyptian authorities decided to appoint a new Egyptian ambassador to Israel, according to Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper. The Israeli newspaper said that the appointment of a new Egyptian ambassador in Tel Aviv shows that Egypt is keen on improving their relationship with Israel. The new ambassador to Israel is the diplomat Atef Salem al-Sayed, he will replace Reda Yasser. An Egyptian source said that the appointment of the new ambassador comes along with a series of changes in the Egyptian diplomatic corps. Israeli political sources said they had not received any official confirmation from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in this regard and expect to have a confirmation this week, as the official appointment of the new ambassador will be announced this week.
