Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr said Sunday that his visit to Algeria is to give a new start to bilateral relations between the countries. Amr said in a press conference with his Algerian counterpart, Morad Madlasy, that the visit was the first after the 25th January Revolution and praised the stance taken by Algeria when supporting Egypt during the 1973 war. Madlasy also said that the two countries are fully capable of enabling fruitful cooperation in addition to fostering positive ties among their people. In a separated context, the Algerian government, in response to the news circulated about Algerians requiring a visa to enter Libya, threatened to respond in a similar fashion if the news proved to be correct.
