Informed sources in Nouakchott told Arabstoday the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will pay a visit to Mauritania on Thursday. His visit comes after an official invitation from the Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz was handed over in October. The Emir was due to visit the country earlier but had to postpone three times due to various world events. Various agreements are expected to be signed between the two countries as part of the visit of the Qatari sovereign. Some observers had dubbed President's Ould Abdel Aziz to Qatar a failure when he travelled to the Gulf state a while ago, which has prompted Sheikh Hamad to press ahead with his Mauritanian tour.
