President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Thursday sent congratulatory telegrams to the kings, princes and heads of Arab and Islamic countries on the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan. He wished them and their people good health and happiness and further progress and prosperity. Also His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent similar cables on the occasion of the Holy Month to the kings, princes and heads of Arab and Islamic countries. Meanwhile, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan received greeting cables from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates on the advent of Ramadan. The Rulers expressed their warmest greetings and blessings on this dear occasion to all Muslims, wishing Sheikh Khalifa good health and the UAE people more wellbeing and prosperity. Sheikh Khalifa also received greeting cables from the crown princes and deputy rulers on the advent of the Holy Month. President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received a greetings cable from Sultan Bin Said of Oman as he entered the UAE’s airspace. UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum also received greetings from Sultan on the occasion of the advent of Ramadan. In a separate development, Sheikh Khalifa has sent a greetings cable to Belgian King Albert II on the occasion of Belgium’s National Day, and to the President of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos on the occasion of the Colombian Independence Day. Similar cables were sent to the Belgian monarch and the Colombian Head of State by Sheikh Mohammed. The committee entrusted with sighting the crescent in the Emirates announced on Thursday evening that Friday is the first day of the month of Ramadan and Thursday is the complement of the month of Shaaban.
