An exchange of fire took place in a house in the Tunisian state of Sidi Bouzid, on Sunday, between three extremists and the national guard. The clashes left one of the extremists killed, while the forces besieged the other elements, and the third extremist blew himself up.
Security sources confirmed that the Tunisian Prime Minister, Youssef al-Shahed, had moved to the national guard barracks in Bir Bourqaba to follow up the ongoing operation in Sidi Bouzid.
"The national guard units targeted a group of extremists in Sidi Bouzid," a spokesman for the national guard said, stressing the killing of an extremist, whose body is still far from the guard units, and another man who detonated himself.
