The family of the founder of the Algerian state Prince Abd al-Qadir appealed to the Algerian president Abdul-Aziz Bouteflika to rapidly intervene with Syrian authorities to rescue the life of the prince who was arrested two months ago after a death sentence was issued against him by a Syrian military court. The message was signed by the prince’s brother Wael el-Hussieni el Gazaery and the message was published in some Algerian newspapers Monday: "We are the family of Prince Abd al-Qadir al-Hussieny al-Gazaery. We are appealing your excellency to rapidly interfere to keep our family away from the sectarian war in Syria which is targeting scientists and great symbols including Prince Khaldoon the son of nuclear scientist Makki al-Husseini Algerie. We are requesting for you to take a rapid action to save the prince, we know well that you will not leave prominent scientists to be unfairly imprisoned.” The family is aiming to achieve a rapid response from president Bouteflika through his good relations with the Syrian regime, where Algeria maintains a policy of non-interference in Syrian affairs.
