Finnish Customs uncovered a large online drug trafficking case, involving sales of narcotics worth 2 million euros (2.26 million U.S. dollars), said the agency on Friday.
The drug ring containing three Finnish persons operated on the website Silkkitie. The persons were suspected of smuggling different kinds of narcotics from the Netherlands and Germany to Finland.
From 2014 to 2016, more than 40 kg of narcotics in powder form, more than 40,000 ecstasy tablets and nearly 30,000 LSD blotters were sold to Finland.
In addition, around 20 different psychoactive substances were also smuggled to Finland. Customs said it was the largest ever online drug smuggling case in Finland. The three suspects were detained in April.
The case will be processed by Finland Proper District Court in autumn this year.
