A pedestrian bridge collapsed Saturday after being hit by a lorry, injuring one and blocking the beneath motorway.
The M20 in Kent, southeast to London, is closed between junctions 3 and 4 because of a "vehicle striking a bridge", Highways England said.
According to TV footages, the lorry was squashed when it passed under the footbridge, bringing down parts of it on the motorway. The top of lorry was sheered and debris of the bridge scattered over the motorway.
The accident caused severe traffic delay from London to Dover, at the start of a banking holiday as Britons have three days off until Tuesday and many of them drive to coastal areas for vacation.
