Special Envoy of the Arab League to Libya, Salah al-Din al-Jamali revealed that, foreign ministers of the neighboring countries will meet on May 7 and May 8 in Algeria to discuss finding a political settlement for the Libyan crisis, and securing the area which became a threat to the neighboring countries due to the spread of weapons and the complete control of Daesh on some areas in Libya. This meeting came in the light of the summit that will be held by presidents of the three States of Algeria in the upcoming period

This crisis made Algeria adopts a new defense policy that protects the borders with Libya, stops weapons’ smuggling, and eliminates extremists. Stockholm International Institute (SIPRI) said that, these security challenges made Algeria increases levels of military spending, which made it enters the field of manufacturing weapons in the last few years.
 
A report issued by the institute under the name” Global military spending reached $ 1.69 trillion during 2016” said that, Algeria spent almost 10.65 billion dollars in the military field, after the spending was set at $ 8.64 billion in 2013, and this increase came because of the threats on the borders with Libya, Tunisia, Mali and Niger.
