The man credited with capturing former Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi was buried after he died from torture and kidnapping injuries, his family revealed. Omran Ben Shaaban was among the group that pulled Gaddafi from his hiding place in a drain pipe near Sirte, Libya, in 2011. Gaddafi was dragged from the drain pipe, violently carried away and killed. Shaaban, 22, and three friends were attacked and kidnapped by Gaddafi loyalists at Bani Walid in southwest Libya in July. After government negotiations he was released and sent for treatment last week at the American Hospital in France, where he died of his injuries Tuesday. He had torture marks on his body and a paralysing bullet near his spinal cord, the Tripoli Post reported Wednesday. "It was clear he was beaten a lot. His entire chest was cut with razor blades" said his brother, Abdullah Shaaban. Shaaban's body was flown back to Libya and buried after an emotional memorial service in a Misrata, Libya.
