Kataeb party leader Amine Gemayel denounced the international community’s procrastination regarding the current situation in the Arab world during the extraordinary conference held in Ankara, Turkey. Gemayel declared that clear-cut decisions have still not been taken by international powers to end the suffering of oppressed people. Gemayel also praised Turkey's affinity towards the Arab cause, starting from the historic cause of Palestine to the future causes represented by the current Arab revolutions. He added that Turkey succeeded in dealing with the current Arab situation in a way that guarantees regional peace and security.The Lebanese politician said that the Arab world should take example on Lebanon, where Muslims, Christians and Druzes coexist, or the Turkish model, where the Turks have found harmony between religious values and secularism, modernity and tradition, regime and freedom, and between the East and the West. Gemayel ensured the commitment of Lebanese and Eastern Christians to the change movement in the Middle East and Arab world saying: “Where there is no freedom, there are no Christians, where there is no freedom there are no Muslims... and where there is no freedom there is no human being. The congress of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party was held 10 years after the party first got in power, in a time of developments in the Arab world which gives importance and special. During the congress, Racep Tayyip Erdogan was re-elected as the leader of the party.
