Hamas spokesman and political bureau member Mahmoud Zahar said in a press statement on Monday that Fatah’s escalation is overstated and may harm the Palestinian reconciliation. He was referring to the tension occurred between Fatah and Hamas after the Fatah delegation was prevented from entering Gaza. Zahar explained that those who tried to enter Gaza Strip arrived at a bad time on Friday which was the time of prayer and had not coordinated with Hamas. He added that this tension may harm the implementing of the reconciliation which was signed in Cairo between Fatah and Hamas, warning that, the Palestinians will never be convinced of the reconciliation withsuch tensions. Regarding the parliamentary elections which was agreed to be carried out on May, Zahar said that he does not expect to carry out the elections with two governments in Gaza and the West Bank. It’s worth mentioning that, Fatah demanded official apology from Hamas, after preventing Fatah delegation from entering Gaza, but Hamas refused, and accused one of Fatah members of insulting them by saying words of “unbelief”.
